THE CHALLENGE
NEED FOR EFFECTIVE CONTACT TRACING
Contact Tracing (along with virus testing) has been identified as one of the primary weapons to help win the war against the COVID-19 virus. An army of 100,000 to 300,000 ‘qualified’ Contact Tracers are needed. Thus far, less than 30,000 Contact Tracers in the U.S. have been engaged and their efforts have proven to be ineffective (<35% effective rate) due mainly to the taskforce’s relative lack of experience in investigative and tracing practices, and the scant use of technology.
